Basil essential oil, also known as sweet basil, is distilled from basil leaves, like the ones you'd find in your kitchen. Its scent is warm, sweet, and herbaceous.
Basil can be used for repelling bugs as well as bad odors. Using it in your home, with or without other essential oils, can create a fresh, clean, and energizing environment.
The aromatherapy benefits of basil essential oil include uplifting the spirit as well as promoting clarity and calming. You might recognize basil as being a 'spa-like' scent.
