Aromatherapy can be quite endearing. Essential oils smell amazing and can be used in a variety of ways for self-care. It sounds fun, but it can be intimidating figuring out where to begin so your essential oils don't sit around collecting dust (though they do look cute on shelves).
Today, I thought it might be fun to share a little day-in-the-life of how I use my essential oils for aromatherapy throughout the day.
6:30 - Wake Up: Inhale Deep Breath Blend straight from the bottle that I leave on my nightstand. It's a beautiful way to start the day, especially when it's hard to get out of bed. Deep Breath can help open up your airways after a night of sleeping with peppermint and eucalyptus as it's two main components.
7:30 - Coffee + Planning: I love the feel of a coffee shop, so I like to diffuse Coffee House Blend in the kitchen area while I'm drinking my coffee, checking my calendar, and creating my to-do list. If I'm having a slow morning (which is often) I also do a bit of reading. It's such a cozy environment.
9:00 - Work: Essential oils can improve focus and uplift your mood, so I definitely recommend diffusing them when you can. You can diffuse essential oils in your home office. But if you work around others, you can add essential oils to a diffuser bracelet or use a roller bottle so that you can enjoy aromatherapy without disturbing others. Some great essential oils for work include spearmint, orange, peppermint, and bergamot.
5:00 - Yoga: Essential oils make a great addition to your yoga practice. You can choose a grounding essential oil like frankincense, or choose an essential oil or blend that matches your intention. For example: Deep Breath Blend can help you focus on your breath and lavender can help you calm your mind.
7:00 - Tidy Kitchen: Dishes are one of my least favorite tasks and often get neglected in our house. Creating an essential oil ritual connected to cleaning can help motivate you to clean. I love diffusing lemon, peppermint, rosemary, and sometimes basil essential oils while I clean to make the house smell clean…it just makes it feel more effective (not to mention it can banish odors)!
9:00 - Bedtime: As the evening is winding down (usually at least an hour before bed) I like to diffuse a bedtime blend to help me wind down. My two favorites are Midnight Air Blend and Evening Woods Blend.
I hope this helps inspire you to use your essential oils! Outside of diffusing, essential oils have so many uses, so we'll keep sharing ideas!
